Mangalore ( mangaluru ) which is often described as the Gate way of Karnataka or the port city is surrounded by Arabian sea on West and Western ghats on East.

Mangalore is also called as mangaluru ( in Kannada ), kudla ( in tulu ) , Kodiyal (in konkani ) , Maikala ( in beary ) , Mangalaapuram (in Malayalam), Kodeyaala (in Havyakka ), Manjarun (in Sanskrit) , Mayngalur(by our express bus conductors xD ) Mangalore is named after Mangaladevi temple . Mangalore is the only city in the world that has 9 names.

If any outsider is reading this and you're planing to visit Mangalore but you are worried about not knowing the regional language ? Well don't be. Mangaloreans have a super power of communicating in which ever language you speak to them be it Kannada , Tulu , beary , konkani , malayalam , English , Hindi. Even if they are not fluent they will try their best to communicate.
Obviously there are loads more cool things about Mangalore which I have missed
